Mumbai – The Great Indian Family box office: Vicky Kaushal and Manushi Chhillar starrer The Great Indian Family got off to a challenging start at the Indian box office. Directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya, the audience turned away from the film on the first day. This may be a result of not much emphasis on the promotion of this film. The number of screens received by this film is also less in comparison. This has directly affected the first day box office earnings. From the box office collection of the first two days, it is clear that the audience has completely refused.

The fate of the film Great Indian Family is now completely in the hands of the audience. It all depends on how they go out and do word of mouth publicity and how much the revenue adds up at the end of the week. If the film can get a positive buzz over the weekend as it was initially, the picture could change, but it remains to be seen whether the positive buzz will sustain at the box office.

Early estimates by industry tracker Sacknilk suggested that The Great Indian Family is likely to earn 1.50 crores in India on the second day. 1.4 crores in the India market which is a nominal increase over the opening day. Made on a reported budget of Rs 40 crore, the film still has a long way to go to make a profit.

Compared to this film, Vicky Kaushal’s earlier release ‘Jara Hatke Zara Bachke’ was a significant success, surpassing box office expectations even though it was released in fewer theatres. However, The Great Indian Family movie did not get off to a good start. Produced by Yash Raj Films, this film has also been a hit with Shahrukh Khan’s ‘Jawaan’. The film is doing well at the box office for the third week in a row. The audience is seen giving priority to Jawan while choosing the movie.
