A 12-year-old minor girl was found half-naked and covered in blood on the road in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh. She was raped and thrown near Dandi Ashram in the city. After the video of this incident went viral on social media, outrage was expressed across the country. The police have now taken action in this matter and arrested the accused rickshaw puller. So, three have been detained. Not only this, it has also come to light that the concerned victim is a mental patient. Indian Express has given a report in this regard.
Accused trying to escape from police custody
The name of the arrested rickshaw puller is Bharat Soni. The accused was taken to the spot today. This time he was trying to escape from police custody. But the police caught him immediately. Bharat Soni was injured in this struggle. So he was sent to the hospital. He is fine now. The victim is from Satna district of Madhya Pradesh and the police has contacted the family.
Character verification of all rickshaw pullers will be done
Superintendent of Police Sachin Sharma said, “We were taking the accused to recreate the crime scene. He tried to run away from the spot and got injured. Our police officers have also been injured. We will conduct character verification of all autorickshaw and e-rickshaw drivers in Ujjain.”
After this incident came to light, the police has formed a team of 28 members to investigate the matter. Also, technical investigation was also carried out. So the accused was caught.
What exactly is the case?
On September 25, the victim’s grandfather lodged a complaint with the police about the disappearance of a girl. The missing girl was searched everywhere. But, she was nowhere to be found. On September 25, around 10 am, the girl went missing after returning home from grazing sheep in the area. The victim’s grandfather had informed in the complaint that the concerned girl is mentally ill and cannot even remember the name of her village.
Meanwhile, the concerned victim wanders around the temples in Ujjain and sustains herself on food provided by local people. As she was walking around the neighborhood, a man approached her. He pressed her mouth. He strangled her. The victim told the police that her clothes were torn and she was sexually assaulted.
After the girl was assaulted, she was going around for help. But no one came to her aid. She wandered the streets half-naked all night. Finally, at 9.25 am, Rahul Sharma (21), an ashram servant, saw the victim. The boy threw clothes on her. After giving her food and water, he lodged a complaint with the police.
