Taibbi replied, “Yes, and there is evidence for that. We’ve certainly seen them have what they call weekly or monthly industry meetings with DHS and FBI. And that included a number of companies, including Facebook, in some cases Wikipedia, Pinterest, there was a whole bunch of companies that were included in those communications. I can’t say how deep the penetration is in those other companies, but I know they had very close contacts. And in the case of Twitter, the number of requests received was truly overwhelming. Your previous guest, Michael Shellenberger, explained how they got $3 million from the FBI. They were underpaid. They did so much work for the government in reviewing these documents that they should have been paid a lot more for their work.
