ICC OCI Cricket World Cup 2023 Captains Day :
The 13th ODI World Cup will be held in India this year. The tournament starts from Thursday (October 5). Now the trumpets of this competition have sounded. A Captain’s Day was organized on Wednesday (October 4) before the start of the tournament.
The first match of this tournament will be played between England vs New Zealand at the largest cricket stadium in the world i.e. Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Due to this, a day before this match, the captains of the 10 teams participating in this tournament had reached Ahmedabad for Captain’s Day.
Former Indian cricketer and coach Ravi Shastri and England’s world champion captain ON Morgan interacted with the 10 captains on this occasion. After that, the captains also interacted with the journalists. After this, all these captains were photographed with the World Cup trophy.
Meanwhile, a video of him during the photo session is going viral. In this video, 2019 World Cup winning captain Morgan brings the trophy to the table, after which the leading captains in this year’s World Cup look up and shake hands.
At the same time, ICC has also shared a behind the scene video of Captain’s Day in which the captains are seen chatting with each other. It is also seen that their photo session is taking place. Not only that, it seems that all the captains have met in the WWE Restoral too. Apart from this, the captain was also seen signing shirts, bats and stickers.
Meanwhile, the much awaited World Cup tournament is going to start from Thursday. This year, for the first time, India is organizing the World Cup independently.
Earlier World Cup matches were held in India in 1987, 1996 and 2011, but the tournament was jointly hosted by Pakistan and Bangladesh along with India. But this time only India will be hosting independently.
The World Cup 2023 tournament will start on October 5 and end on November 19. 48 matches will be played in this 46-day tournament. All the matches in this tournament will be held in 10 cities namely Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Dharamshala, Delhi, Chennai, Lucknow, Pune, Bangalore, Mumbai and Kolkata.
10 teams including India, England, Australia, New Zealand, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, South Africa and Netherlands have participated in this tournament.
All these 10 teams will play against each other in the league round. The top four teams will then play in the semi-finals, while the winners of the semi-finals will meet in the final on November 19.
