Temba Bavuma’s Antics After Shubman Gill Survives Run-Out, Virat Kohli’s Reaction Can’t Be Missed. Watch

The battle between No. 1 and No. 2 of the Cricket World Cup 2023 as India took on South Africa in the top-of-the-table clash at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. With the likes of Virat Kohli and Shubman Gill trying to put up a solid partnership, they avoid a small hurdle when the latter looked to take a solid single. Gill looked like his wicket was in danger as he ran at the end of the danger but the throw was not on target. However, South African skipper Temba Bavuma decided to interfere with the stumps using his arm.

Bavuma’s antics, however, did not create any confusion among the India duo or the umpires but Kohli was quick to point out to Gill that it was a dangerous single. In fact, if the throw was at Virat’s end, he could have been in danger. Here is the video:

On the occasion of his birthday, Kohli did not want to give up, and thankfully, both avoided such a mistake. Gill, however, did not last long after the incident and was dismissed by Keshav Maharaj while stumping for 23.

As for the match, India skipper Rohit Sharma won the toss and decided to bat first. India made no changes to the line-up, picking the same XI that hammered Sri Lanka by 302 runs in the last match.

“We will bat first. It looks like a good pitch, it wasn’t about the pitch, we wanted to challenge ourselves. It will be a good game, two teams who have played consistent cricket and are on top of the table, Be nice to win and go to the top. I love playing here, not only me, the whole team is looking forward to playing at this historic park. We are playing in the same team , I don’t think we need to change anything with the way we were playing,” Rohit said after winning the toss.

Rohit’s decision turned out to be the right one as India scored over 300 runs with the bat before bowling out the Proteas for 100, ensuring a resounding victory.
