ICC ODI Rankings Shubman Gill : Pakistan captain Babar Azam has retained his top spot in the latest ICC ODI batting rankings. But India’s opening batsman Shubman Gill has narrowed the gap in rating points. Babar Azam currently has 857 rating points to his name. At the second position is Anaya Gill with 814 rating points. The difference between the two is only 43 rating points. Gill has a chance to become the number one batsman in the upcoming series against Australia. If Shubman Gill scores 200 runs in three ODIs, he can reach the first position in the ICC rankings. Meanwhile, Virat Kohli is currently sitting at number eight in the ODI rankings.
Shubman Gill’s bat is currently burning in international cricket. In the Asia Cup, he scored a half-century against Pakistan and then a century against Bangladesh. Gill is currently ranked second in ODI cricket. But he has a golden chance to become number one. The Indian team will play a three-match ODI series against Australia from Friday. If he scores 200 in this series, Gill can become the top batsman in ODIs.
India’s Shubman Gill is second in the ICC ODI rankings. Virat Kohli is ranked eighth while Rohit Sharma is ranked tenth. Siraj is on the first position in bowling. Kuldeep Yadav is at the ninth position. Among the all-rounders, Hardik Pandya is at the sixth position.
How has the performance been in the last five innings in ODIs –
Shubman Gill has performed strongly in the last five innings in ODIs. Two fifties and a century have been scored. Gill has remained unbeaten in two of his five innings. He scored half-centuries against Nepal and Pakistan, and a century against Bangladesh. Gill has scored 67*, 58, 19, 121 and 27* in the last five ODIs respectively.
Mohammad Siraj tops in bowling –
Before the start of the Asia Cup, Mohammad Siraj was ninth in the ODI rankings with 643 rating points. Siraj benefited from his penetrating batting in the Asia Cup. According to the latest rankings, he has jumped 8 places to the first position. Siraj now has 694 rating points. In the Asia Cup, Siraj took 10 wickets at an average of 12.2. Earlier, Mohammad Siraj reached the number-1 position in the ODI rankings in March 2023, after which Josh Hazlewood ousted him from that position. Now once again Siraj has jumped to the first position.
