Bangladesh and England played their first match on Tuesday. The second match was played between Pakistan and Sri Lanka. England won the first match and Pakistan won the second match. Meanwhile, due to Pakistan’s victory, there has been a big change in the points table.

England lost the toss and batted first in the match against Bangladesh. This time, David Malan (140), Jonny Bairstow (52) and Joe Root (82) scored 364 runs in 50 overs. Apart from these three batsmen, no other player could perform well. But the Bangladesh batsmen could score only 227 runs in 48.2 overs. So Bangladesh won by 137 runs.
Another victory for Pakistan
In the afternoon match between Pakistan and Sri Lanka, Dasun Shanaka won the toss and elected to bat first. Kusal Mendis and Sadira Samaravikram scored centuries in the first innings. Kusal Mendis scored 122 runs while Sadira Samaravikram was dismissed with 108 runs. This performance made Sri Lanka score 344 runs. For Pakistan, Abdullah Shafiq and Mohammad Rizwan led the team to victory. Abdullah Shafiq scored 113 runs and Mohammad Rizwan scored 131 runs. Finally, Team India won by 6 wickets.
A big change in the points table
After the double header on October 10, England moved to fifth place in the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 points table after defeating Bangladesh. Pakistan team is on the second position after winning 2 matches. The Sri Lankan team has 2 defeats and is at the eighth position.
New Zealand team is on top-1 in this. He has two points and a net run rate of 1.958. After England’s victory, Bangladesh has dropped out of the top-4 and India is now at number four.
