Leaders Online: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) today announced the Pakistan squad for the ICC ODI World Cup in India. Pakistan has dropped fast bowler Naseem Shah from the ICC Cricket World Cup squad due to injury. This is considered a big blow for Pakistan. (Pakistan Squad for ICC World Cup 2023)
In the recently concluded Asia Cup, Pakistan could not reach the finals. Naseem Shah has been performing consistently well since his debut in the Pakistan team. He holds the record of taking 32 wickets at an average of 16.96 with two five-wicket hauls in his ODI career so far. But now he is out of the team.
Along with Babar Azam, the squad for the World Cup includes Fakhar Zaman, Imam-ul-Haq, Mohammad Rizwan, Iftikhar Ahmed and Salman Agha. Apart from this, Haris and middle-order batsman Saud Shakeel have also been named in the squad. Shadab Khan and Mohammad Nawaz are the two spinners in Pakistan’s squad for the World Cup in India.
