The schedule for next year’s U-19 World Cup was announced today. The tournament will be held in Sri Lanka from January 13 to February 4. With the inclusion of 16 teams in this World Cup, some new twists and turns will be seen. Sri Lanka is hosting the World Cup for the first time since 2006 and the hosts will play their first match against Zimbabwe on January 13.
India had lifted the 2022 World Cup and they have to play their first match against Bangladesh in the tournament. The 16 teams are divided into 4 groups and the top three teams from each group will advance to the next round followed by the Super Six round. The group round will be held from 13th to 21st January. 12 of the 16 teams will advance to the next round and will be divided into two groups. The top three teams from Group A and D will be in one group and the top three teams from Group B and C will be in one group. Each team will play two matches in Super Six.
