Former Pakistan all-rounder Mohammed Hafeez and former England captain Michael Vaughan recently had a battle on X, formerly known as Twitter, over India batsman Virat Kohli’s century against South Africa. The number in the Cricket World Cup 2023 was a record 49th ODI hundred for Kohli but Hafeez called the India batsman ‘selfish’ on that knock. Soon after his comments, Vaughan poked fun at Hafeez. Vaughan said the former Pakistan all-rounder criticized the India star for being bowled clean by Kohli during the T20 World Cup in 2012.

having already exchanged some social media barbs with Vaughan, Hafeez appears to have taken an indirect jibe at Vaughan, continuing the rant.

“Talk sense to a fool and he calls you a fool…,” the former Pakistan all-rounder wrote on X.

In response, Vaughan wrote on X, “Just understand why you’re so good at throwing Tweets”.

Earlier, former Indian cricket team batsman Gautam Gambhir praised Virat Kohli for equaling Sachin Tendulkar’s 49-year scoring record in ODI cricket but also hinted that his side could have been in trouble if things had been a little different because at his speed.

Kohli looked in great form during the Cricket World Cup 2023 match against South Africa but has slowed down a bit as he approaches his age. On a complex surface, Kohli found it difficult to deal with the boundaries, especially towards the end of his knock. Gambhir felt that the slow pace with which Virat scored runs at the end, could hurt India in the game.

The Rohit Sharma led side won the match against South Africa by a comfortable margin of 243 runs.
