Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar today visited Pusesawali village after the situation in the village returned to normal. On this occasion, Ajit Pawar met the families of the youth who died in the violence and consoled them.
The mob had become aggressive saying that the post on social media had hurt sentiments. A group from Pusesawali village attacked a religious place and one person was killed. After this incident, Deputy Chief Minister of the state Ajit Pawar has reached this village to meet the people of both the groups. He appealed for peace in the wake of Ganeshotsav and Eid.
On this occasion, Ajit Pawar met and consoled the family of Nuran Hasan Liaquat Sheikh, who died in the riots. Nuran’s wife informed about how the violence took place. Ajit Pawar listened in detail this time. After meeting the families, while discussing with the locals, Ajit Pawar said that he will look into the matter. Action will be taken against the culprits. He urged everyone to take care so that law and order problem does not arise under any circumstances. Many people have been living together in the village for generations… there has never been a riot.
An arson incident took place on September 10 in Pusesavali of Khatav taluk of Satara district due to tension arising from an offensive post on Instagram. Two separate cases have been registered by the Satara police in this case.
On Sunday, September 10, offensive comments were made on the accounts of two boys on Instagram posts in Aundh police station limits. Accordingly, when the two concerned children were being interrogated, tension arose after the said offensive comment was given an aggressive reaction by the other group. A religious place was vandalized in the violence.
After this incident, Satara police took immediate steps and tried to control the situation. Internet was banned in the district for three days. Apart from that, tight security was put in place to prevent any untoward incident. Police have arrested 34 people in the violence case and search is on for some of the accused.
