Despite their impressive dominance on the court and breaking unprecedented records, Indian Badminton stars Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty have shown a constant desire to achieve more and inspire the next generation. Satwiksairaj and Chirag won India’s first ever Asian Games gold medal in badminton, yet, they want to achieve more in the future, keeping the hunger alive and inspiring the next generation as well. “Personally I would like to say that we have a lot more to achieve. We are happy but we are not really happy. We have a lot more to achieve and we want to achieve more and for sure it feels good to be World No. 1 and Asian Champions. much more hunger inside. We have a lot more to do in the upcoming tournaments and of course we wanted to encourage a lot of young kids to pick any sport.Satwiksairaj told ANI.
Chirag responded to his partner’s sentiments, emphasizing the desire that there was no fog to progress, “As Satwik said we are not satisfied yet we have a lot more competitions and things to achieve here. We’re looking forward to it and I hope we can mentor in some way. these kids and hopefully there are a lot more people playing at the highest level and they give a lot more medals for the country.”
The two star shuttlers have not only attracted attention with their dominance on the badminton court but are also taking social media by storm with their unique dance steps they perform after winning a match.
Satwiksairaj revealed how the story behind that special dance and said, “It started from Thomas Cup. Thomas Cup finals. For me it comes naturally when I hear any drums or sound I start dancing automatically . So it happened in Thomas Cup. It was. drums were playing in the dugout So it comes very naturally. After the victory it became a habit for us I get a lot of messages that your game was fine but the dance well But I said I won the game then they say yes, it’s good but the dancing is what we enjoyed (Laughs). We are trying to win many competitions and make many stages.”
Chirag also talked about their post-victory dance and revealed that he only tags along when his partner starts dancing and said, “Well it comes naturally to us. It’s more to do with Satwik. He starts doing the dance and me. So, after every big win we have on the tour we do that and it’s very special to us.”
