Asian Games 2023: For the first time since 1982, India has won a gold medal in equestrian at the Asian Games. On the third day too, India’s tricolor was hoisted on Chinese soil. The Indian team topped the competition with 209.205 points, followed by China with 204.882 points and Hong Kong with 204.852 points. The team of Sudipti Hajela, Hriday Vipul Chheda, Anush Garwala and Divyakriti Singh created history by winning India’s first gold medal in the event. Soon after the athletes won the gold, India also won a silver medal and a bronze medal in individual in the same sport.
India won gold, silver and bronze medals in horse riding
India won the gold medal in equestrian by scoring 209.205 points. This is India’s third gold medal in the 19th Asian Games. Earlier, India had won one gold medal in shooting and another gold medal in women’s cricket. After winning the gold medal in the equestrian team event, Anush Agarwala won the silver medal for India in the same event, while Hriday Cheda won the bronze medal.
There is hope for a medal in this game
The third day of the 19th Asian Games saw several games in which India did not win a medal, but India has made strides in that direction. In men’s hockey, India defeated Singapore by a huge margin of 16-1. In squash, the women defeated Pakistan 3-0. India also won the men’s squash event 3-0. All eyes will now be on the volleyball game, where India will face Pakistan for the fifth spot.
