IND vs AUS KL Rahul : India won the first ODI against Australia by 5 wickets. India showed that their preparations are on the right track with a winning start to the three ODI series ahead of the World Cup. Interestingly, several senior players, including India’s captain Rohit Sharma, have been rested for the first two ODIs of this series.
KL Rahul is leading the Indian team in the absence of Rohit Sharma and Hardik Pandya. KL Rahul praised Team India for their response after beating Australia in the first match. Even in such a hot environment, the players performed tremendously.
Captain Rahul said about his wicket-keeping, ‘I came into the field in a difficult situation after keeping wickets for 50 overs. It is difficult for a middle-order batsman to start. But the partnership with Suryakumar went well. We were consulting each other about the batting.’
Mohammad Shami did the best for India in bowling. He took five wickets. He was also given the man of the match award. On the other hand, Australia captain Pat Cummins said after the match, ‘I am happy with the comeback. It was good that the first match was here in India. Disappointed not to win.’
‘I think some players in our team batted well and some bowlers bowled well.’
