Guy Fieri names his favorite restaurant and burger in New Jersey
Food Network’s Guy Fieri has become the authority on fine dining. Every restaurant he walks into no doubt wants his approval. I’m just saying, Guy is the Food Network’s answer to Oprah.
If you’re lucky enough to have Guy bless your restaurant, it’s like the big O put you on his list of favorite things. Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives have, of course, become cult classics, and with good reason.
In Jersey, we know that some of the best food comes from places where you least expect it. There is no attention to decoration as it would be time not to spend on that perfect dish. We live here for our dives and so does Guy. He lists some of his favorite places in New Jersey here, but he recently said that this particular New Jersey restaurant is one of his favorites and that’s a great crowning glory.
When asked by gastronomic site Mashed what his favorite New Jersey restaurant was (other than his) he replied, and believe me, the restorers listened.
Guy chose Johnny Prince’s Bayway Diner in Linden. Not only did he choose this location as his favorite spot in New Jersey, but he said it rivaled any location in the country. He never misses an opportunity to get nostalgic, it’s also the very first place where he shot his now hugely successful DDD’s.
His favorite menu item is the “Monsterburger”, which consists of two beef patties, a pork bun, bacon, cheese, onion rings, lettuce and tomato on a hard bun. It keeps it real.
Guy has spoken, so get to this place ASAP! Here are some other New Jersey locations featured on The Food Network:
