The All Whites were outclassed 2-0 by former European champions Greece after the hosts blitzed the first half in Athens.

Greek youngster Giannis Konstantealis took advantage of shaky New Zealand defense in the 10th minute to open the scoring.

New Zealand goalkeeper Michael Woud was out of position when the ball hit the far post.

The second goal for the hosts in the 29th minute from a corner was one of a handful of scoring opportunities for the former European champions in the first half.

Dimitrios Kourbelis’ header was saved by the New Zealand keeper, only for Giorgos Giakumakis to find the loose ball into the net.

Whites skipper Chris Wood got through the first half but was withdrawn at half-time while managing a hamstring injury.

Greece maintained their 2-0 advantage at half-time as New Zealand kept them goalless in the second half.

The All Whites will play against Ireland in Dublin on Wednesday in their final game of the season.

New Zealand will be looking for a better tour with next year shaping up to be an important one with FIFA qualifying for the 2024 World Cup.
