Mumbai : On the occasion of Anant Chaturdashi, Ganesh Visarjan and Eid-e-Milad festival will be held on the same day i.e. tomorrow Thursday (28th) and the state government has decided to declare a public holiday on Friday 29th to enable the police administration to properly manage the crowd and processions. The delegation met Chief Minister Eknath Shinde in this regard and requested them to give a holiday on the 29th so that there would be an atmosphere of peace in the state and the police would be able to plan the crowds and processions. This delegation included MP Rahul Shewale, MLA Abu Azmi, MLA Raees Khan, Naseem Khan, etc.

On the occasion of Anant Chaturdashi, Ganesh immersion processions and Eid-e-Milad processions are held in various parts of the state. It has been decided to declare September 29 as a holiday keeping in mind the possibility of stress on the police system due to the processions taking place on the same day due to both the festivals.

On the occasion of Anant Chaturdashi, we bid farewell to Ganaraya. The Chief Minister has also appealed to the Ganesha devotees of the state to observe discipline in the immersion procession as usual and perform Ganesha immersion in an atmosphere of peace and harmony.

The arrival of Lord Ganesha created an atmosphere of rejoicing for the last ten days. There are festivals like Eid as well as Navratri, Dussehra and Diwali in the coming period. The Chief Minister also said that everyone should celebrate these festivals with unity and devotion and make the traditions of the state brighter.

The Chief Minister expressed his satisfaction that the Police took care to maintain law and order in the entire state during the Ganeshotsav period and also the Ganesh Mandals followed the rules and conducted this favorite festival with joy.
