On the occasion of Anant Chaturdashi, Ganesh immersion processions and Eid-e-Milad processions are held in various parts of the state. It has been decided to declare September 29 as a holiday keeping in mind the possibility of stress on the police system due to the processions taking place on the same day due to both the festivals.

On the occasion of Anant Chaturdashi, we bid farewell to Ganaraya. The Chief Minister has also appealed to the Ganesha devotees of the state to observe discipline in the immersion procession as usual and perform Ganesha immersion in an atmosphere of peace and harmony.
The arrival of Lord Ganesha created an atmosphere of rejoicing for the last ten days. There are festivals like Eid as well as Navratri, Dussehra and Diwali in the coming period. The Chief Minister also said that everyone should celebrate these festivals with unity and devotion and make the traditions of the state brighter.
The Chief Minister expressed his satisfaction that the Police took care to maintain law and order in the entire state during the Ganeshotsav period and also the Ganesh Mandals followed the rules and conducted this favorite festival with joy.
While celebrating the festival, we cannot ignore the importance of cleanliness. We have taken up the campaign of clean Maharashtra. We are going to make our villages and wards garbage free on October 1. The Chief Minister has also appealed to the Ganesh Mandals to help the administration in keeping the surroundings clean after immersion and to give a good message.
