Volleyball World Beach Pro Tour: Gomantic beach volleyball players Rama Dhwasakar and Nitin Sawant will have a big chance at the Volleyball World Beach Pro-Tour tournament at Warka beach.
In this prestigious beach volleyball tournament of the world, which will be held from October 19 to 22, the national champion Goa pair will play directly in the main round, informed S. Gopinathan on Tuesday.
While informing about the tournament, Gopinathan said in a press conference that “Rama Dhawasakar and Nitin Sawant of Goa will play in the main round of the tournament as the top pair of India. The World Federation has awarded two wild card entries to India in the men’s and women’s categories for the qualification round.
Both these pairs will play in the qualifiers. In the main round, 16 leading pairs from around the world will play in men’s and women’s groups. It is a big thing that Indians are getting a chance in this. There will be 32 pairs each in the men’s and women’s groups in the qualifying round.
Indians have not played in the previous ten tournaments of the series, they will make their debut through the tournament in Goa.”

Big competition in Goa: Chief Minister

Organized for the first time in the country: Arolkar
MLA Jeet Arolkar said, “Volleyball World Beach Pro-Tour series started in the month of February. So far there have been ten competitions and the competition to be held in Goa is the eleventh in the series. There will be a total of seventeen matches and the series will conclude in December.
This competition is being held for the first time in India and an opportunity has been given to organize it in Goa which is famous for tourism. We have received substantial support from the Chief Minister, Tourism Minister, Sports Minister and through beach volleyball, sports and tourism will be combined.
From seven in the morning to seven in the evening, the matches of the leading beach volleyball players from around the world will take place. After that from 7 pm to 10 pm there will be international DJ programs at the venue of the competition at Warka Beach.
The tournament will see players from 40 countries come to Goa to play in the qualifiers as well as the main round, and tourists are also expected to attend in large numbers.
Valuable competition in terms of experience
Goa’s top beach volleyball players Rama Dhwasakar and Nitin Sawant won the national selection trials for the Asian Games held in Chennai, but due to lack of international ranking, they could not play in the tournament in China. In September, the pair won medals at two major international events in Bangladesh.
Silver at the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) Beach Volleyball Continental Cup, followed by a gold medal at the Central Asian Volleyball Association (CAVA) tournament.
For Rama and Nitin, India will be India’s ‘A’ team in the main round of the Volleyball World Beach Pro-Tour tournament and this participation will be very important for them in terms of experience. With his international experience, it is clear that he will be the main contender for the gold medal at the 37th National Games.
