Gill has played 19 matches in the ODI format so far this year where he has scored 1126 runs at an incredible average of 70.37. During this period he scored 4 centuries including a double century. If Gill scores another 768 runs in ODIs this year, he will become the highest run-scorer in a calendar year. Currently Sachin Tendulkar’s name is at the top in this list for the last 25 years.
Sachin Tendulkar made this world record in 1998 with 1894 runs. In 34 matches played that year, the master blaster recovered runs at an average of 65.31.
