Gill may break Tendulkar’s record: Sachin Tendulkar’s ‘ha’ world record on Shubman Gill’s target!

Leaders Online Desk : Gill may break Tendulkar’s Record : India’s opener Shubman Gill is in tremendous form this year. His bat has been raining runs in the ODI format. That is why there is talk in the cricket circles that this year Gill can break the old world record of former Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar 25 years ago. Gill has played 19 matches in the ODI format so far this year where he has scored 1126 runs at an incredible average of 70.37. During this period he scored 4 centuries including a double century. If Gill scores another 768 runs in ODIs this year, he will become the highest run-scorer in a calendar year. Currently Sachin Tendulkar’s name is at the top in this list for the last 25 years.

Sachin Tendulkar made this world record in 1998 with 1894 runs. In 34 matches played that year, the master blaster recovered runs at an average of 65.31. The Masterblaster scored 9 centuries and 7 fifties during this period. It is also called the dream year of Sachin’s career. (Gill may break Tendulkar’s Record)

Even legends like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma tried their best to break this world record of Sachin Tendulkar, but they fell far behind. Rohit Sharma scored the highest 1490 runs in 2019. He scored 5 centuries in that year’s World Cup. Whereas Virat Kohli scored the highest 1460 runs in 2017.

Gill is now considered a contender to break Sachin’s record. This year, apart from the upcoming two ODIs against Australia, he will get a chance to play at least 9 matches in the upcoming World Cup and 3 ODIs against South Africa. Gill still has 14 matches to go and given the pace he is batting, it can be said that he can break Sachin Tendulkar’s record. (Gill may break Tendulkar’s Record)
