Lando Norris has revealed that tire degradation was the main reason the McLaren star missed out on his maiden F1 win.
Norris kept up with Max Verstappen for most of the Brazilian Grand Prix, only to drop out for the final few laps.
“I’m not far behind for the first 10-15, 17 laps but the last stage,” Norris said. “I come out a little too much.
“I don’t know if it’s just that we’re a bit slower and I’m pushing a bit more to try to keep up, and then I pay the price or it’s just a bit of our tire degradation as well. and we suffer in the slow pace a little bit with the backs, and that’s where we struggle there with the lap time in the end.
“So, yes, clear things to improve, as I said yesterday, but still a very positive day for us.”
