Comedian Andy Dick arrested again for public intoxication and failure to register as a sex offender
Troubled comedian and actor Andy Dick has been arrested again, this time for public intoxication and for failing to register as a sex offender in the community of Lake Elsinore, California, where he recently moved.
Dick was arrested by Riverside County Sheriff’s Deputies after residents reported a man suspected of being drunk in public. Officers met Dick around 12:30 a.m. and determined that the 67-year-old was “showing signs that he was under the influence of alcohol”. According to Yahoo News, he was taken into custody without incident.
Deputies passed his name on to the bureau and found that Dick was also unaware of his sex offender registration. As a result of these violations, the actor was imprisoned in the Cois Byrd detention center.
This is just the latest in a long line of run-ins with the law.
In May, he was arrested for assault after an adult man in California’s O’Neill Regional Park claimed the actor had sexually assaulted him. He was arrested at a trailer park where he lived.
In the summer of 2021, the comedian was arrested for allegedly assaulting a man with a metal chair. Dick was charged with assault with a deadly weapon for this incident.
In 2017, Dick was fired by the producers of the independent film Raising Buchanan for allegedly groping people’s genitals on set and harassing several women.
After the incident, Dick claimed he got help for his behavior problems, but the following year he was charged with sexual assault by a woman who claimed he began groping her as they passed each other on a Los Angeles sidewalk.
The list of allegations against the actor goes back almost 20 years and includes exposing himself, licking people’s faces, groping, harassing, urinating in public and racial slurs. Dick has also been confronted by members of the police several times, including arrests for driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs.
Other arrests include a 2004 incident when he was arrested for indecent exposure at a McDonald’s. In 2008, he was arrested for exposing the breasts of a 17-year-old girl and for possession of drugs. In 2010, he was arrested for groping two people in a bar. And in 2014 he was accused of stealing a necklace.
