Asian Games 2023 Opening Ceremony: The Asian Games started with a colorful program in Hangzhou, China. The Indian team has so far participated in qualifying matches in football, cricket and volleyball. The Indian women’s team has also reached the semi-finals. The Indian table tennis team secured their spot for the next round by defeating Yasmin and Singapore. The sports festival will see athletes from 45 countries going all out to win medals in 40 sports.
Chinese President Xi Jinping attended the ceremony. In his presence, the history of China and its achievements were shown. Spectacular laser show mesmerized the crowd. Afghanistan’s players came first in the players’ parade. The fans greeted the Indian team with thunderous applause as they entered the stadium.
Hockey team captain Harmanpreet Singh and Olympic medalist boxer Lavalina Borgohen carried the Indian flag for the opening ceremony of the Asian Games. Chief of the Indian team Bhupender Singh Bajwa said on the occasion that we have taken a unanimous decision regarding the flag bearer. Two flag bearers have been selected for this year’s Asian Games. This responsibility has been given on the shoulders of Harmanpreet Singh and Lovelina Borgohen.
