air date, nominations and how to watch
When awards season rolls around, they’re no more important than the Oscars, which are the de facto gold standard for the best Hollywood movies.
The 95th Academy Awards take place this spring, and Everything Everywhere All At Once is in the running for the most awards with a total of 11 nominations. Here’s when the Oscars air and how to watch them from the US and UK.
When are the 2023 Oscars?
The 2023 Oscars are currently scheduled to be held at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood Sunday March 12, 2023, exact times to be announced.
It will be broadcast on television and around the world. In 2023 it will be 95 years since the award ceremony took place. You can watch a tribute video to the show below, featuring many famous faces:
What channel will the Oscars be broadcasted on?
If you’re in the US, the Oscars will be broadcast on ABC.
No plans have yet been confirmed in the UK. However, in previous years, the Sky Cinema Oscars subchannel (channel 302) aired the ceremony, as well as red carpet coverage.
This is then usually followed by a highlight roll on Sky Max the following evening. We’ll confirm UK release plans later.
If you are not yet a Sky Cinema customer, you can register on the Sky website. If not, you might be better off watching it online via Now – more on that later.
How to watch the Oscars online
American viewers who aren’t near a TV have an easy option: head over to the ABC website to stream the entire show live, or watch it via the ABC app. Hulu Live TV and YouTube TV will also broadcast the show.
UK viewers will likely be able to watch the show through Sky’s Now Cinema membership, which costs £9.99 a month. Again, we’ll confirm if closer to time that’s still the case.
Who will host the 2023 Oscars?
Jimmy Kimmel will be back for a third time to host the ceremony. He previously hosted in 2017 and 2018.
Who are the 2023 Oscar nominees?
