Ramesh Kadam was released from jail after being granted bail. He was accused of corruption in the Annabhau Sathe Corporation scam. He has been released after almost 8 years after getting bail. Even after his release, the activists outside the jail greeted him with cheers.
What were the charges against Ramesh Kadam?
Ramesh Kadam was accused of an alleged financial scam of Rs 312 crore in the Annabhau Sathe Development Corporation. So Ramesh Kadam was in jail. Ramesh Kadam was the chairman of the Democratic Annabhau Sathe Economic Development Corporation.
When Ramesh Kadam was president, he was accused of corrupting hundreds of crores by showing fake beneficiaries. Former Minister Laxman Dhoble had accused Kadam of this corruption. 250 crores of corruption has taken place in Annabhau Sathe Corporation and 3700 pani evidence was given to the Bribery Department. Activists gathered outside Thane Central Jail to welcome Ramesh Kadam. After his release, he was given a warm welcome by his workers with drumming and slogans. Many workers from Mumbai, Thane, Solapur had reached to welcome him. Ramesh Kadam was a former NCP MLA. He contested from Solapur Mohol constituency as an independent candidate in 2014 and 2019 while in jail.
