37th National Games Two-time Olympic medalist P. V. Sindhu, as well as H. S. Prannoy, Lakshya Sen, Kidambi Srikanth have been selected by the Badminton Association of India.
The Badminton Association of India has announced the list of men’s and women’s teams, as well as individual and doubles players, as per the rankings for the 37th National Games. The National Games will be inaugurated on October 25.
Before that, Badminton Tournament (Team and Individual) will be played from October 19 to 24, said Badminton Association of India Secretary Sanjay Mishra.
Goa has a total of seven seats
Goa has got a total of seven seats as the host in singles and doubles. 16 players each will be contenders for medals in men’s and women’s singles.
Two spots each are reserved for players from Goa as hosts in the men’s and women’s individual singles categories.
Goa has one place each in men’s and women’s doubles, as well as mixed doubles in a total of eight pairs.
India’s rising international badminton player Tanisha Krasto will play for Goa in women’s doubles and mixed doubles, while Anura Prabhudesai will play for Goa in women’s singles, Goa Badminton Association secretary Sandeep Heble said.
