Where Is Renslayer at the End of the ‘Loki’ Season 2 Finale?

Warning: This article contains full spoilers for Loki season 2, episode 6.

If you’ve clicked on this article, you’ve probably taken some time to catch your bearings after insanity LokiSeason 2 is finally here and they are watching the fine print now. Was that last scene of Ravonna Renslayer really who he seemed? And what was that pyramid to do there?

Renslayer took the tumble from revered TVA judge to runaway and eventually outcast, wound up in the Void after being pruned by Hunter X-05. We see her again in the final moments of the season, stranded and terrified as a purple glow washes over her, but a few additional visual clues seem to indicate that there is more to the scene than meets the eye, in fact Marvel mode.

The immediate reading of that cryptic Renslayer scene at Loki’s end is that she is in the Void, like any other human being, and is about to be consumed by Alioth, the dark cloud monster guarding the waste dimension this.

We’d be fine with that theory if it weren’t for the clearly intentionally missing Easter Egg that went hilariously out of sight at the Loki writers. Namely, the TVA crest and slogan on the ground, with the Egyptian pyramid in the background. Either of those alone, and even more so together, scream only one thing: Kang. And we all know that Renslayer and Kang are two peas in a pod.

The pyramid is clearly a reference to Rama-Tut, the version of Kang who ruled Egypt that we saw in the post-credits scene Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, although the TVA node may refer to the extant one. Some viewers are also convinced that the purple glow was not coming from Alioth but Kang the Conqueror, whose purple suit allows him to blast blue-ish energy.

In the end, Loki allowed Sylvie to kill He Who Remains and found a solution to stabilize the multiverse without cutting entire timelines. He restored free will but also created the conditions for the emergence of multiple Kangs, confirming He Who Remains’ prediction of a second Multiverse War between his more vicious versions.

It seems that the TVA’s main job now is to monitor these versions, to intervene when they start to display dangerous behavior, so is it possible that some of them were also sent to the Void? Were they there long ago? Could Renslayer somehow be in Egypt? Is Renslayer really Kang’s version as so many theorized throughout season 2? In any case, any death on screen does not usually mean that we will see his face again, or at least that possibility is deliberately opened.
