Ujjain, ANI. An accused in the Ujjain rape case tried to escape from the police on Thursday, but he could not succeed and the police caught him.
Attempt to escape during crime scene recreation
Police said that the accused Bharat Soni tried to run away while recreating the crime scene, due to which he fell and got injured in his leg. Police said two policemen were also injured while arresting the accused.

The accused got injured after falling
Police officer Ajay Kumar said that today we reached the spot to recreate the crime scene and recover the clothes worn by the girl. Bharat Soni tried to escape after getting the opportunity. Police personnel chased him and caught him. Police said that during this the accused fell and suffered injuries on his hands and legs.
The accused was admitted to the hospital
Let us tell you that the accused has been admitted to the hospital in an injured condition, where a huge crowd of police personnel has gathered. Police said the accused is being provided medical care.

On this incident, Ujjain Superintendent of Police Sachin Sharma said that we have technical evidence of the day and place of the incident. We have taken detailed statements from the people the girl helped and contacted and all these will form part of our investigation and will help in the prosecution.

The police officer said that an attempt was made to spread a narrative to the people of Ujjain in which it was told that people did not help the girl. When we investigated, we found out that people of the locality had provided financial help. Someone gave Rs 50 and someone Rs 100. It could have been better but we express our gratitude to all the aware people of Ujjain.
