These two players selected in Pakistan team for World Cup 2023 have already visited India, know when and why

This time the World Cup (Cricket World Cup 2023) is being organized in India. So, all the ten participating teams will come here, including Pakistan Cricket Team. This will be the first tour of India for almost all the players in Pakistan’s World Cup squad, as there has not been a bilateral series between these two teams for many years.

Due to tension on the border, neither the Indian team goes to Pakistan nor the Pakistani team comes to India. Matches between them take place only during Asia Cup and ICC tournaments.

These two players have got a chance to come to India earlier also

This time the World Cup is being held in India, hence the Pakistani team will also have to come to India. Out of the 15 players who have been selected in the Pakistan team for the World Cup 2023, only two players have ever visited India before. The names of these two players are Mohammad Nawaz and Salman Agha.

Nawaz had come to India on behalf of Pakistan cricket team during the ICC T20 World Cup 2016, but he did not play a single match in the tournament. Whereas Salman came to India in 2014 to play Champions League T20. On 27 September 2014, he played for the Lahore Lions team under the leadership of Mohammad Hafeez against Dolphins in Bengaluru. In that match, Salman was bowled after scoring only 1 run in 3 balls.

Apart from these two players, no player in the World Cup squad of Pakistan team has ever come to India before. Regarding this, Babar Azam was also asked whether there is additional pressure on him, to which he said that we have talked to our senior players who have played cricket there. According to him, except for some spin pitches like Chennai, the conditions of almost all the pitches are the same.
