Mumbai: Indian benchmark indices were trading higher with the BSE Consumer Durables index on Thursday. Today this sectoral index was the top gainer. Whereas, BSE Utilities Index was the top loser sectoral index. As the market opened today, BSE Sensex rose by about 484 points or 0.74% to reach 65,709. Similarly, NSE Nifty-50 index has risen by about 130 points or 0.67% to reach 19,567. On the BSE, 2,174 shares advanced, 1,168 shares declined and 166 shares remained unchanged.

Top gainers and losers on BSE:

Tata Consultancy Services Limited, State Bank of India and Kotak Mahindra Bank were the top gainers of Sensex today. Whereas, Power Grid Corporation of India Limited, NTPC Limited and Hindustan Unilever Limited were the top losers in the Sensex.

Indices traded higher in broader markets. The BSE Mid-Cap index rose 0.25% and the BSE Small-Cap index rose 0.60%, respectively. The top mid-cap gainers are Godrej Industries Ltd. and APL Apollo Tubes Ltd., while the top small-cap gainers are Goodluck India Ltd. and Apollo Micro Systems Ltd.

The market capitalization of BSE-listed companies as on 05 October 2023 is approximately Rs 318 lakh crore. On this day, 169 stocks reached 52-week high and 19 stocks reached 52-week low.
