Rabri Devi
Rabri Devi, former CM of Bihar and wife of Lalu Prasad Yadav, said, “Under women’s reservation, seats should be reserved for women from deprived, neglected, agricultural and laboring classes. Don’t forget, women also have a caste. Third/fourth caste of other classes. Instead of a generation, only the first generation of women from deprived sections is getting educated. Therefore, it is mandatory for them to have reservation within the reservation.”

Atishi
Aam Aadmi Party leader Atishi has called the Women’s Reservation Bill a stupid bill. He said, “This is a bill to fool women. Because women will not get reservation in the 2024 elections. There will be a census and then there will be delimitation. If we understand directly, even if the Women’s Reservation Bill is implemented as soon as possible, it will not happen before 2027-28. Work is being done to fool the women of the country before the elections of 2024. Why can’t the central government give 33% reservation in the current 543 seats?
There is a demand from PM and BJP that the bill should be amended and one-third reservation should be given from 2024 itself.”

Akhilesh Yadav
Samajwadi Party President and former UP CM Akhilesh Yadav wrote on social media platform “Let me be clear.”

BSP supremo Mayawati
Bahujan Samaj Party supremo Mayawati has shared BJP’s press note on the Women’s Reservation Bill on her X handle.

AAP Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha

MP Raghav Chadha further wrote, “Does this mean… no women’s reservation for 2024 elections, the country and women will have to wait for fresh census and delimitation for women’s reservation, the bill needs to be executed.” Has been prepared without a will.” He further said that we demand immediate implementation of women’s reservation without any delay.

RJD MP Manoj Jha
RJD MP Manoj Jha wrote, “If the idea behind the Women’s Reservation Bill was to ensure broader representation to women, it could not have happened without reaching out to SC, ST and OBC women. In many ways, it completely loses credibility. This is a post dated promise of a government. In clear words, this is a fraud.”

Shiv Sena UBT leader Priyanka Chaturvedi
Regarding the Women’s Reservation Bill, Shiv Sena UBT leader Priyanka Chaturvedi said that there is no need to be happy about it right now. Because even after passing this bill, it will not be implemented in the next few years. Even after this becomes law, we will have to wait a long time. The demand for this bill was going on for a long time and the women of the country have fought a long battle for it.

The bill was pending for 3 decades
The proposal for women’s reservation in Parliament was pending for almost 3 decades. This issue was first raised in 1974 by the Committee to Assess the Status of Women. In 2010, the Manmohan government had passed the 33% reservation bill for women in the Rajya Sabha with majority. Then SP and RJD opposed the bill and threatened to withdraw support from the then UPA government.

After this the bill was not introduced in the Lok Sabha. Since then the women’s reservation bill is pending. Now Modi government has got it passed in the Lok Sabha. This bill will be sent to Rajya Sabha for discussion. Then after the signature of the President, this bill will become law.
