Deepika Padukone has been in the news for quite some time now. Her interview with Ranveer Singh on Koffee With Karan recently went viral and the actress was slammed by many for being honest about her marriage. Before marrying Ranveer, Deepika dated Ranbir Kapoor and their love story is still being discussed till date. However, Deepu’s turbulent relationship with Vijay Mallya’s son Siddharth Mallya is not much talked about.
Apart from IPL matches, many fans saw Deepika getting friendly with Siddharth, and the two shared a great bond. Although they never took to dating each other while in a relationship, they did talk after their breakup and left their fans in awe.
Both Deepika and Sidharth accused each other after their break up. “I tried very hard to improve the relationship, but his (Siddharth’s) behavior for some time has been disgraceful. The last time we met on a dinner date, he asked me to pay the bill. That embarrassed me,” Deepika told IBT Times.
On the other hand, the businessman called Deepika a ‘crazy woman’. He said in an interview, according to a Times Now report, “Deepika is a crazy woman; I told her I’ll pay her back when Daddy clears her debt and the government releases him, but she wasn’t ready to settle.”
He also claimed that he gifted actress Om Shanti Om with diamonds and luxurious bags and even hosted parties for her friends, “She has forgotten the time I gifted her with expensive diamonds, luxurious bags, which she lavished on her holidays and hosted parties for his friends on her behalf.”
Later, Deepika Padukone defended herself in an interview with the Unreal Times. She called Sidharth a ‘cheap’ and said she was not at all happy when he asked her to pay for dinner at the Taj.
She said, “So cheap! Firstly, he insisted that we travel by car instead of the Merc. Then, when I asked him for a dress, he took me to a low-end bazaar with an end-of-season sale offer and bargained like crazy for the one top he finally bought; I was so embarrassed!”
The two were never seen together after their break up.
Deepika is happily married to Ranveer. The duo tied the knot in 2018.
On the work front, Deepika Padukone is currently enjoying the massive success of Jawan and gearing up for Fighter. The film stars Hrithik Roshan and fans can’t wait to see this jodi dominate the big screens!
