The stock market lost its record gains on the first trading day of the week. On Monday, Sensex fell by 241.79 (0.35%) points at 67,596.84 while Nifty closed at 20,133.30, down by 59.05 (0.29%) points. There will be no trading in the market on Tuesday on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi. Stock markets will now open on Wednesday. On the first trading day of the week, there was pressure on shares of metal, realty and banking sectors in the market. During this period, shares of HDFC Bank, which were performing strongly in the market for the last few days, also fell by 1.25 percent. Hindalco shares fell by two percent.
