These days Salman Khan is waiting for the release of his film Tiger 3. After that, we are busy preparing for the new film that is going to be made. In between he is meeting the media. Attending events. On September 21, Salman Khan attended the trailer launch event of Gippy Grewal’s film Maujaan Hi Maujaan. Here the talk was about the earnings of films. Because Gippy’s previous film Carry on Jatta 3, which released in June, had earned more than Rs 100 crore worldwide. This is the first film in Punjabi cinema history to do so.
In such a situation, the anchor of this event told Salman that he is the poster boy of 100 crore club. Salman Khan was the only superstar who earned more than Rs 100 crore in 16 consecutive films. Akshay Kumar has equaled this record of Salman with OMG 2. Talking on this, Salman said that till now Rs 100 crore has become the lowest bar of earning of any film. From Hindi to Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Marathi films have also started earning much more from this.
Salman was asked that now Punjabi films have also started collecting Rs 100 crores. What does Salman think on this? Salman said-
“I feel that the figure of Rs 100 crore will now be considered as the lowest level of earning. Now films of every industry will earn Rs 4, 5 and Rs 600 crore. Apart from Punjabi industry, Hindi industry, Marathi industry will earn Rs. Films are earning like this. Earning Rs 100 crore is no longer a big deal. Now we should consider Rs 1000 crore as the benchmark for any film’s earnings.”
Salman Khan did say this. But his previous film ‘Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan’ could barely cross Rs 100 crore. The worldwide collection of the film also came to less than Rs 200 crore. After the failure of this film, Salman has become conscious. He is choosing his next films carefully. His ‘Tiger 3’ is coming on Diwali. Both fans and trade are hopeful that this film will set new earning records. Because Salman Khan has not given a big hit film for a long time. His last all-time blockbuster film was ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’. Which came in 2017. Now he is going to make a comeback with the same iconic character after 6 years.
After ‘Tiger 3’, he is going to do an action film to be produced by Karan Johar. The shooting of this Vishnuvardhan directed film is said to start from December 2023. After that Salman and Shahrukh will start work on ‘Tiger vs Pathan’. Shooting of this film will also start from February or March 2024. The third film of Salman’s line-up is ‘Prem Ki Shaadi’. After tackling ‘Tiger vs Pathan’, Salman will start this picture.
