Robbie Williams’ wife Ayda Field has shared her most embarrassing moment, admitting she once “split” her trousers before meeting Queen Elizabeth II.

The mortified founder of Ayda Activewear said: “I gave birth to Teddy and I couldn’t fit into anything. I had these Topshop pants which I thought looked really tall [but] in the car trip over, the button popped and the whole front [of the trousers] popped off.”

She cried: “It was too late to turn back … it wasn’t my best moment.”

Ayda also admitted that her sense of style has changed significantly since the time she met the Queen, and that she now feels sexier in her casual clothes.

“[In the past]I was wearing tight clothes – Dolce & Gabbana dresses or Herve Leger bandage dresses,” she explained.

“I used to buy clothes when I needed human help to get in and out of – and I’d wear heels all day! Like, what the f***? Why?”

The wife of the Let Me Entertain You hitmaker now thinks 90 per cent of her wardrobe reflects “a life led by some other chick”.

“She exists in this wonderful red carpet, high fashion world [but] the other 10 [per cent] the life I live is all my active clothing. My comfort is much sexier than anything else in my life now,” she explained.

Meanwhile, she has revealed that she is on the lookout for any embarrassing outfits her husband chooses, admitting that “he makes all sorts of weird fashion choices”.

“Together we’re willing to go for it and kind of drag it and see, and if we got it wrong, we got it wrong,” continued the actor.

She joked, in a fashion crisis, “It’s just a picture we have to see forever. It’s okay. It’s just the internet.”

Although the former Hollywood socialite has shed her showbiz lifestyle over the years and adopted a more casual look, she wants readers to know that she hasn’t compromised on style.

Arguing that comfort and sexuality are not two opposing teams”, she explained that she avoids anything “unattractive or sloppy”.

While Ayda is helping members of the public look chic in their downtime, she’s learning more about her husband than she ever knew, thanks to the release of her self-titled Netflix documentary earlier this month.
