Ramesh Bidhuri Remark Row: The matter of BJP MP Ramesh Bidhuri’s derogatory remarks against BSP MP Danish Ali is getting deeper. Leaders of opposition parties have demanded strict action against Ramesh Bidhuri. Whereas, Danish Ali has been accused of instigation by BJP. There was intense political activity regarding this matter on Sunday (24 September).
Congress MP Adhir Ranjan Chaudhary told news agency ANI, “On behalf of the Congress, we have written a letter and expressed our objection. We have protested the way our Parliament House has been insulted and degraded. We have treated this matter as a matter of privilege.” There is a demand to send him to the committee and suspend the member with immediate effect.”
Lok Sabha Speaker adopted a tough stance
Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla has taken a strict stance on this matter. He has ordered his secretariat to compile the facts. According to sources, in the order given to the Lok Sabha Secretariat, it has been said that all the facts related to this matter should be placed before the Speaker of the Lok Sabha, this includes video footage, records of the Lok Sabha and letters given by other members of the Lok Sabha. After complete investigation, the matter can be sent to the Ethics Committee.
Lalu Yadav responded
RJD chief Lalu Yadav criticized the BJP MP and said, “Whatever was said is not right. This is a very dirty thing.” Congress MP Deepender Singh Hooda said, “The kind of language used in Parliament is very unfortunate. It is not enough to condemn it.”
What did Ramesh Bidhuri say on the controversy?
When asked about the remarks made against Danish Ali, BJP MP Ramesh Bidhuri said, “Speaker (Om Birla) sahib is looking into it. I do not want to make any comment on that.” Meanwhile, on Sunday, BJP MP Harnath Singh Yadav wrote a letter to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on Danish Ali’s alleged derogatory remarks against PM Modi.
Another BJP MP wrote a letter
Harnath Singh Yadav said, “Being a responsible citizen of this country, I have written a letter to the Speaker of the Lok Sabha and I was surprised as to why Ramesh Bidhuri used such words inside the Parliament, but when I heard about the matter. When I dug deeper, I came to know that BSP MP Danish Ali said that PM Modi is ‘despicable’.”
Accused of instigating Danish Ali
Accusing the BSP leader of provocation, the BJP MP further said, “Such indecent conduct of Danish Ali provoked him (Ramesh Bidhuri). I do not support any kind of derogatory remarks inside the Parliament, but I am surprised.” That no opposition leader spoke on this comment of Danish Ali.” BJP MP Nishikant Dubey had also accused Danish Ali of provoking Bidhuri.
Danish Ali hit back
On this, BSP MP Danish Ali said on Sunday, “I request the Speaker of the Lok Sabha that this should be investigated because this is another case of breach of privilege.” I demand that action be taken against Nishikant Dubey for what he has written.”
Danish Ali said, “If what Nishikant Dubey is saying is true, there should be a video of it as well. Is it true that all the BJP MPs were sitting there laughing? It means that they did not come in support of the PM. “They verbally lynched me in the House and now they are trying to lynch me outside too.”
BJP on target of opposition leaders
CPI(M) leader Brinda Karat accused Nishikant Dubey of lying. He said, “Nishikant Dubey’s allegation is a lie. What happened to BSP MP Danish Ali was a verbal lynching. Strict action should be taken, arrest should be made. No MP has the privilege to take such action against another MP just because.” He can use bad words because he belongs to a particular community.”
Ravi Kishan wrote a letter to the speaker
Another Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP, Ravi Kishan, on Sunday wrote a letter to the Lok Sabha Speaker urging him to investigate the conduct of Danish Ali. He accused Ali of indulging in unparliamentary acts and using objectionable words in the House.
In a letter to the Speaker of the Lok Sabha, Ravi Kishan said, “The words used by Bidhuri against Danish Ali are not acceptable in any way, but the circumstances in which such words are used by one MP against another MP in the House.” Such objectionable words were used, they need to be looked into and investigated.”
Sanjay Raut criticized
Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut told news agency PTI, “A Lok Sabha member comments on the religion and caste of another MP. This is wrong and this type of person should not be in Parliament. The sanctity of the new Parliament and It is everyone’s responsibility to maintain dignity. If any opposition MP had used such abusive language, I would have taken the same stand.”
BJP has issued notice
BJP had issued a show cause notice to MP Ramesh Bidhuri on the instructions of party president JP Nadda for using unparliamentary language against Danish Ali. Let us tell you that, during the discussion on the success of Chandrayaan-3 in the Lok Sabha on Thursday, Bidhuri had commented on Danish Ali. After this, MP Ali had said that if no action was taken, he could consider leaving the membership of the House.
