Every once in a while an actor or actress comes along and seems to slip effortlessly into the cultural zeitgeist. Think Timothée Chalamet a few years back, or Jennifer Lawrence around this time The Hunger Games came out first. The actress and singer is the latest star to reach such famous levels Rachel Zeglerwho is only 22 years old and already has a Golden Globe win for Best Actor in a Comedy/Musical under his belt.

In an interview with BuzzfeedZegler revealed that she was very involved with the character of Maria and that helped her when she played the role.

“Máire and I are very similar. We were both 18 at the time. She has only been in New York for four or five months. I was living in New York for the first time; My mom was with me, the same way Bernardo was with her. And she just has to navigate her friendships and relationships, and how she feels about being an adult and coming of age.

Variety said that she gives María “a touch of brightness and a keen eye for distance”. Basically, she crushes it and it’s easy to see why.

The truth is, despite the negative reviews for the film as a whole, many critics praised her performance in the film and highlighted her natural ability to deliver a funny line with comic timing. In the film, she plays a rebellious but loyal teenager who doesn’t always think things through, and she plays it convincingly. It’s so easy to call out a performance in a movie like that, but Zegler brings it all. Dare we say, she is the best thing about the film. we dare!

The Hunger Games: Ballad of the Beasts and the Snakes

Admittedly, we don’t have much to go on other than the trailers, but this one looks good. Zegler plays Lucy Gray Baird, a tribute from District 12. She falls in love with Coriolanus White, played by Tom Blyth. White, of course President Snow from the original films, where he is played by Donald Sutherland.

We can see that Zegler shows a lot of range in this one. There are times when she is unhappy and fighting for her life, and other times when she is vulnerable but also on edge and intelligent. There is a soft, tearful scene where Snow tears from her eyes, and at one point we even see her playing guitar and singing. It would be a shame to waste her incredible talent, so we’re glad they put that in.

There is a critical response to the film very good. Erik Davis of Rotten Tomatoes and Fandango said that Zegler is “really enjoying this. Her character Lucy Gray is very different from Katniss, and the tense, complex dynamic between Lucy’s Coriolanus and Tom Blyth is fascinating.”

Film Reel David Gonzalez said that “Rachel Zegler is amazing with her amazing voice.” Things are shaping up nicely for this one.

White snow

Of course, we have to talk about it White snow. All we have to do is argue. Recently, Disney announced that they were delay the film until 2025, a full year after it was originally slated for release.

First, the Daily Mail He said there weren’t even dwarves in the film, and instead that the princess would be a “politically correct companion.” This caused distress, as did Zegler as a Hispanic woman in a so-called “white” role.

In an effort to calm the fires, Disney released the image above which shows Zegler in a costume with her seven dwarves surrounding her in a circle. The truth is that this is one of Disney’s biggest films, and if it fails it will jeopardize the release of future live-action remakes and potential White snow sequence.

Although we haven’t seen Zegler in action yet, this is sure to be a marquee role for the actress, and she’s clearly well-suited to play it. We don’t have a release date for a trailer yet, but we’ll be anxiously awaiting.

Zegler has been on late nights a lot, but her time on Kimmel is one of her best. She exudes incredible charm and grace, while being extremely approachable and humble. It’s not an easy combination to pull off, but Zegler really shines in front of a camera.
