Penny Stocks: Stock market battered for the 5th consecutive session, yet Shiva Granito Export shares rose 10%, why?

Mumbai: Indian stock markets fell again today. This is the 5th consecutive session when the stock market is battered. BSE Consumer Durables index was trading lower today, being the top gainer sectoral index. BSE Industrials index was the top loser in the market today. On Monday, BSE Sensex fell by about 200 points or 0.30% to 65,808 and NSE Nifty-50 index fell by about 60 points or 0.30% to 19,615. On the BSE, 1,765 shares advanced, 1,738 shares declined and 208 shares remained unchanged.

Top gainers and slipper stocks on BSE

Bajaj Finance Limited, Bajaj Finserv Limited and UltraTech Cement Limited were the top Sensex gainers on BSE today. Whereas, Axis Bank, Larsen & Toubro Limited and Infosys Limited were the top Sensex losers.

There was mixed trading in broad market indices. The BSE Mid-Cap index declined by 0.32% and the BSE Small-Cap index rose by 0.10%. The top mid-cap gainers are Indian Railway Finance Corporation Ltd. and Dalmia Bharat Ltd., while the top small-cap gainers are Schneider Electric Infrastructure Ltd. and Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd.

As on September 25, 2023, the market capitalization of BSE-listed companies is around Rs 318 lakh crore. With this, 146 stocks reached their 52-week high and 27 stocks reached their 52-week low.
