A suicide blast took place on Friday near a mosque in Mastung city of Balochistan, Pakistan. At the time of the attack, people were gathering for the procession of Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi. According to Al Jazeera’s report, an eyewitness who was injured in the blast said – I was passing near the procession when the blast occurred. I fell unconscious. As soon as I regained consciousness, there was chaos. Dead bodies were scattered around me.
Another person who helped the injured said- I will never forget this painful scene. I was helping take the injured to the hospital. My hands were drenched in blood. There was blood on the clothes also. People were crying.
According to news agency ANI, 58 people including the DSP died, while more than 100 people were injured. Children are also included among the dead. Another blast took place in a mosque in Hangu city of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. This was also a suicide attack. According to Pakistani media ‘News International’, 4 people including a police officer died here.

The Chief Minister of Balochistan has announced 3 days of mourning in the entire province. The attack was being linked to the terrorist organization Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan i.e. TTP active in Balochistan, but TTP has said that they are not behind this blast. Government will provide treatment to those injured in Balochistan blast
Assistant Commissioner of Mastung city said that the blast took place near the car of DSP Nawaz Gishkori. According to Geo News, the police officer who died in the attack is DSP Nawaz.
Balochistan’s acting Information Minister Jan Achakzai said that all the injured have been sent to the hospital. If needed, he will be shifted to Karachi. The government will take full responsibility for the treatment of the injured.
