An engineering student committed suicide by hanging himself in the hostel of Chaudhary Charan Singh University in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh. The body of the student was found hanging from the fan in the hostel room. As soon as the information was received, the police reached the spot, took possession of the body, sent it for post-mortem and started investigating the case. After this incident the students created a ruckus. With great difficulty the university administration and the police pacified the students.

Let us tell you, Prashant Pandey, a third year B.Tech student from Banaras, was living with his two friends in room number 99 of Pandit Deendayal hostel. On Tuesday morning, all three students had to go to class, but Prashant refused to go.

After this his room partner left for class. When the roommates returned after class, the door was locked from inside. Both of them knocked on the door for a long time. But there was no movement inside. After this, he looked inside the window and saw Prashant’s body hanging from the fan.

Students created ruckus against the university administration

The police was immediately informed about it. After reaching the spot, the police broke the door and brought down Prashant’s body. Then the students gathered at the spot created a ruckus against the university administration and closed the university gate and sat on strike. After much effort, the body of the student was taken for post-mortem.

Meerut SP said this in the matter

On this matter, SP City Piyush Singh said that information was received that a student named Prashant, living in Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Hostel of Chaudhary Charan Singh University, has committed suicide. He was a B.Tech IT third year student. Police have registered a case of suicide and started investigation. This matter is being investigated from one angle.
