Matt Lucas pokes fun at his weight loss with hilarious quip after drastic transformation | Celebrity News | Showbiz & TV

Matt Lucas poked fun at his weight loss transformation with a funny joke on social media.

The 48-year-old took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share a funny joke about his slim look.

He said: “If I look thinner it’s because I’ve started to lose weight intermittently.”

Matt’s fans found his tweet funny and took to the comments section to join in on the joke.

One follower laughed: “Getting rid of bloating is amazing for the waistline.”

The second added: “Good. Constant farting can cause complications, especially when involved in public transport.”

Matt showed off his incredible transformation in 2022 when he fronted his final series of The Great British Bake Off before his exit.

The comedian put his weight loss down to not wanting to die young, after both his father and grandfather died of heart attacks in their 50s.

He told The Sun: “My dad died when he was 52, very suddenly. His dad died, I think he was 56, so I was looking at media law.

“I was very big and I was getting bigger in the pandemic. Where I wasn’t very active, not really going out, not seeing people, but eating a lot.

“I was so overwhelmed I couldn’t fit on the screen anymore,” Matt told the publication.

The Little Britain star said he dropped three sizes, going from a double XXL to a medium after losing weight.

He goes for walks while living by a canal and doesn’t eat as much as he used to.

The BBC star revealed he felt better about himself and relieved to lose the weight after changing his eating habits.

Matt said he was obsessed with roast potatoes during the lockdown, but has now cut back on his intake and eats his favorite foods in moderation.

As well as hosting Bake Off, Matt is best known for playing various roles on Little Britain and playing Nardole on Doctor Who.
