Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) is in direct competition with the National Students Union of India (NSUI) on all four posts. ABVP is leading on all posts. NSUI seems to be giving a tough competition for the post of Vice President.

When did ABVP win?

Between 2010 and 2019, ABVP has won 29 of the total 40 posts of President, Vice President, Secretary and Joint Secretary. In 2019, ABVP candidate Akshit Dahiya had won by a record of more than 19 thousand votes. Vice President candidate Pradeep Tanwar was victorious by eight thousand votes. Whereas in the post of Secretary we were lagging behind by a margin of two thousand.

Before that, ABVP had won three out of four posts. ABVP’s clean sweep in DCAC: ABVP supported candidate Ayush Singh won the post of President in Delhi College of Arts and Commerce (DCAC). Issues of girl students dominated the voting

The issue of safety of girl students dominated the Delhi University Students Union (DUSU) elections. Most of the girl students talked about voting to increase security. How much voting took place in which college?

Voting in North Campus was between 35 to 40 percent. Voting in North Campus colleges was between 35 to 40 percent. 42.3 percent votes were cast in Kirori Mal College. Here only 2409 out of 5600 students voted. There was 33 percent voting in Ramjas. Here only two thousand out of 5800 students voted. In Hansraj, 2150 out of 5000 students voted, 45 percent voted here. 2300 out of 4300 students voted in Hindu College and 965 out of 3500 students voted in Rajdhani College.

Voting had started at 8:30 am, but only a small number of students had turned up till 10 am. The number of students started increasing from 11 am. The pace of voting increased significantly at 12 noon. Voting took place at the same pace till 1 pm.

Chief Election Officer Prof. Chandra Shekhar said, observers were put on duty in all the colleges from seven in the morning for voting.
