Kym Marsh says she’s ‘never away from hospital these days’ in tearful update | Celebrity News | Showbiz & TV

Waterloo Road actress Kym Marsh took to social media today to share an update from hospital after taking her father there for another scan.

The former Strictly Come Dancing contestant recently shared the heartbreaking news that doctors have told her that her beloved father David can no longer undergo chemotherapy treatment.

The 47-year-old previously revealed in 2021 that David had been diagnosed with terminal prostate cancer.

Kym took to Instagram this afternoon to share an emotional update with her 607,000 followers, posting a picture of the hospital waiting room.

“Another film for the father,” wrote the BBC Morning Live presenter.

“Never walk away from the hospital these days,” she said with a tearful emoji.

Kym has been keeping fans informed of David’s cancer battle, often sharing details with viewers on Morning Live.

The former Coronation Street star spoke to co-host Gethin Jones about her father’s deteriorating condition earlier this month.

At the time, Gethin said: “I know you’ve spent a lot of time with your father recently.

“We know Dave very well on Morning Live and the reason you’re spending time with him is because you’ve had bad news, haven’t you?”

Kym replied: “Yes, Morning Live is following up on dad’s cancer diagnosis which was about two and a half years ago I think now and his latest scan results have unfortunately shown that there are more deposits of cancer further up his spine now. .

“They are doing more scans to see if it has spread to the rest of his bones but unfortunately they can’t offer him chemotherapy.

“So they suggested we go and spend a lot of time with him and make a lot of memories.

“So that’s what we’ve been doing, we went out on Halloween to the trail of lights and he’s enjoying spending time with his family.”

Gethin then said: “We send him all our love, and we hope to see him soon.”
