James Martin shocked fans after he allegedly decided to cut his career “hiatus” short.
Earlier this month, the chef wrapped up his 20-date James Martin Live tour, which included live cooking demonstrations and performances from his band, the Midnight Ramblers.
During his show in Liverpool, he told fans: “For me personally, I’ve been through a lot of s**t with cancer but I’m getting better at the end of next month.”
“I’ll be back fighting at the end of February but I’m going on a little break to sort that out.”
Although he was aiming to be back on screens next year, his 731,000 Instagram followers are worried after seeing the 51-year-old’s latest post.
James took to social media on Friday (November 17) and posted various photos on the set of ITV’s James Martin’s Saturday Morning.
In the carousel was an image of the show’s kitchen, a fruit cheesecake, and a hard-earned post-work pint.
In the caption, the celebrity chef said: “We’re back! A full day of filming @saturdayjamesmartin and one for the local person.”
Taking to the comments section, one concerned fan said: “I thought you were supposed to be taking time off to improve James or are you still on a high after your amazing tour. Take care of yourself.”
The second wrote: “I thought you meant it easy James sending love.”
“Did you think James is sick and taking time off? Hope you enjoyed it,” one fan replied, followed by a beer emoji.
Another said: “Don’t you mean to take it easy and sort out your health, Mr Martin?”
A fifth said: “Get better, we’ll still be here when you’re fighting fit.”
The concern comes after James, who appears frequently on This Morning, revealed he was diagnosed with facial cancer in 2018.
At the time of the health update, he said: “’Then I was diagnosed with cancer on my face and I had to have surgery, which I couldn’t do until two days before Christmas when we finished filming.
“Since then it has come back several times and I have to have regular treatments.”
According to NHS Informationthe first signs of non-melanoma skin cancer are usually lumps or patches on the skin that do not clear up after a few weeks.
In most cases, these lumps are red and filmy, and patches are usually flat and porous.
The site also states that non-melanoma skin cancer is one of the most common types of cancer in the world.
