India vs England Warm Up match, match between England and India
India vs England Cricket World Cup 2023 Warm Up Match: Before the start of the World Cup, the Indian and England teams’ intentions to strengthen their preparations were thwarted. The toss took place in the first warm-up match of both the teams in Guwahati, but then rain completely spoiled the match. It rained at regular intervals and the inspection of the ground continued. The rain stopped once, but started again and the decision was taken to cancel the match at 5.40 pm Indian time, which caused losses to both the teams.
Earlier, India had decided to bat first after winning the toss, but about five minutes before the first ball was to be bowled at 2 o’clock, it rained so much that it continued to rain at regular intervals. The cut-off timing of the overs i.e. the sequence of reduction of overs was to be from 7:30 minutes, but when the decision was taken to cancel the match at 5:40, at least one and a half minutes were required to make the field playable from this stage itself. An hour’s time was required. On top of this, in this situation the rains that started again added to the itch of leprosy. After this the umpires announced the cancellation of the match.
