India scored 116 runs after losing seven wickets in 20 overs. Smriti Mandhana played the highest innings of 46 runs. Whereas, Jemimah Rodrigues scored 42 runs.

In reply, the Sri Lankan team could score only 97 runs after losing eight wickets in 20 overs. For India, Titas Sadhu took three wickets and Rajeshwari Gaikwad took two wickets. In this way, Team India won the final match by 19 runs and won the gold. Whereas, in the match for third place, Bangladesh defeated Pakistan and won the bronze medal.

Indian innings

The Indian team had a bad start after winning the toss and batting first. Shefali Verma was out after scoring nine runs in 15 balls. After this, Smriti along with Jemima made a partnership of 73 runs for the second wicket. Ranaweera broke this partnership. He dismissed Mandhana. Mandhana played an inning of 46 runs in 45 balls with the help of four fours and one six.

At the same time, Richa Ghosh was out after scoring nine runs and captain Harmanpreet Kaur was out after scoring two runs and Pooja Vastrakar was out after scoring two runs. Jemimah Rodrigues played an inning of 42 runs in 40 balls with the help of five fours. Deepti and Amanjot remained unbeaten scoring one run each. For Sri Lanka, Udeshika Prabodhni, Sugandika Kumari and Enoka Ranaweera took two wickets each.

In reply, the Sri Lankan team also had a bad start. Titas Sadhu performed brilliantly and sent Chamari Atapattu (12), Anushka Sanjeevani (1) and Vishmi Gunaratne (0) to the pavilion. After this, Hasini Perera and Nilakshi de Silva made a partnership of 36 runs for the fourth wicket. Pooja broke the partnership by dismissing Nilakshi (23).

Rajeshwari dismissed Hasini (25). Deepti dismissed Oshadi Ranasinghe (19), Devika Vaidya dismissed Kavisha Dilhari (5) and Rajeshwari dismissed Sugandika Kumari, ending Sri Lanka’s hopes. Titas took maximum three wickets for India. Whereas, Rajeshwari got two wickets. Deepti, Pooja and Devika got one wicket each.
