UP Crime News: The headmaster of a government primary school in Shahjahanpur has been arrested for sexually assaulting a Class 5 student. The officers provided this information. Superintendent of Police Ashok Kumar Meena said that the accused Asif Jamal (42), is the headmaster of a government primary school under Roza police station.
Allegation of molestation of fifth class student
He said the matter came to light on Friday when the girl’s family filed a complaint alleging that the headmaster performed obscene acts with the girl in the class and gave her Rs 10 to remain silent. They said that when they went to the school to inquire about the headmaster, other girl students also told similar stories of harassment. Police said the headmaster has been suspended and a case has been registered against him under sections of the POCSO Act and the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989.
Accused principal arrested
Basic Education Officer Ranveer Singh said that on Friday a villager called him and informed him about the incident, after which he reached the school and talked to the headmaster and the girls studying there. Singh said that a three-member committee has been formed to investigate the matter, in which a woman will also be a member. He said that departmental action will be initiated after investigation.
