January 24 (Reuters) – Staff from the International Monetary Fund will visit El Salvador from January 30 to February 8, the fund said on Tuesday.

The visit to the capital San Salvador will be led by the head of the mission Raphael Espinoza and will focus on the discussions of the 2022 Article IV Consultation with the Salvadoran authorities, the fund said.

During article IV consultations, which are usually held annually, the IMF assesses a country’s economic and financial developments and discusses policies with local officials, as well as business representatives, unions of work, and of civil society.
