Air Force Day will be celebrated on 8 October. During this period, more than 100 aircraft will participate in the air show to be held in Prayagraj.
Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhary said that the Indian Air Force will replace all MiG-21 squadrons with Light Combat Aircraft Mark-1A i.e. Tejas by 2025. The flypast to be held on Air Force Day on October 8 in Prayagraj will be the last flypast of MiG-21.
During the press conference, Choudhary said that this would probably be the last flypast of the MiG-21 across the world. It is noteworthy that MiG-21 has been in the Indian Air Force for more than 60 years. He has also been a victim of many accidents in the past few days.
On the question of the current situation in Eastern Ladakh, the Air Chief Marshal said that the Air Force is also continuously keeping an eye on the Line of Actual Control (LAC).
A total of 180 LCA will be included in the Air Force
Air Chief Marshal said- We had signed the contract for 83 LCA Mark-1A (Tejas). A total of 180 LCA Mark-1A will be brought along with 97 extra aircraft. In a month or two the second squadron will be number-plated. The third squadron will also be number-plated by next year.
The Indian Air Force is considering inducting military equipment and hardware worth Rs 2.5 to 3 lakh crore in the next seven-eight years. India has received three units of S-400 missile system from Russia. The remaining two units, which were stalled due to the Russia-Ukraine war, are expected to be available by next year.
Air Force is also using Long Range Air Defense System Project Kusha
Air Chief Marshal said that the Air Force is using Project Kusha for indigenous long range air defense system. The Indian Air Force has now received approval from the Defense Ministry to develop 5 units of Project Kusha, under which the indigenous version of the S-400 missile system will be made.
It will be equipped with a multi-layer missile system, which will be able to hit targets up to a distance of about 400 kilometers.

- 84 Sukhoi-30 MKI fighter aircraft will be upgraded at a cost of more than Rs 60,000 crore.
- The Air Force is finalizing the purchase of Akash Weapon System, Medium Range Air to Surface Pralay Missile System and others.
- Except for tanker aircraft and multi-role fighter aircraft, acquisition will be indigenous only.

More than 500 fighter jets of MiG series have crashed
