The IS Car Franchises continue to pay dividends for Pixar, thanks to paving the way to itchy “vehicles with faces” that inspire kids, and draw serial killers over.
The series is very detailed and well thought out. Gas stations are car restaurants. The headlights are their bathing suit areas. Auto parts stores, with their unholy Frankensteinian epitome of body horror, are probably the epitome. And, if the logic goes through, Motor Trend are they a men’s health magazine, i don’t know? The kind with pictures of guys who crunches in their sleep, but i Motor Trend the guys are cars, and the abs are hood vents? The point is, it’s a publication that knows a thing or two about the physical health of motor vehicles, with a team of people you can trust to give you an honest answer on how old a car can be.
And according to themLoin Cup champion and sometimes-shoe Monty “Lightning” McQueen who was in his 20s Car, in his 30s Cars 2, and he was approaching retirement age from professional sports in his late 40s Cars 3. All this goes a long way towards explaining why there is so much of it Cars 3 dedicated to scenes where McQueen drank red wine alone in his apartment and listened to The Smiths while repeatedly reactivating and deactivating his Tinder profile.
The IS Car subtle films are not about the career path of professional athletes; McQueen’s journey from young hotshot star to aging washout was designed with real people like Michael Jordan and Muhammad Ali in mind.
And I’ll tell you what else is crazy. You know Boo, the baby from Monsters Inc.? She was 37. There was a gland thing, and she was pulling that con from an orphan when Sully found her. …At least that’s what I remember from watching that movie in the recovery room after I got my wisdom teeth out. I suspect the same was true in Russell from up, too.
