The film ‘Gadar 2’ starring actors Sunny Deol, Ameesha Patel, Utkarsh Sharma, Simrat Kaur and Manish Wadhwa, released just before the Independence Day festival, has remained in the theaters for the 40th day in the country’s cinema history in terms of its earnings among Hindi films. Has become the number one film. The film has continued to maintain its lead over ‘Pathan’ starring Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone and John Abraham. The box office record so far is of the film ‘Pathan’, which remained in theaters for the ninth week, whose Hindi version had earned Rs 524.23 crore.

Currently, the sixth week of the film’s release is going on. The film earned around Rs 60 lakh according to provisional figures on the sixth Monday of its release and by Monday night its domestic box office collection had reached Rs 520.60 crore.
Getting benefits of GaneshotsavThe film ‘Gadar 2’ also earned well on the first day of Ganeshotsav i.e. Ganesh Chaturthi. According to the trends received from across the country till late Wednesday night, the film managed to earn around Rs 45 lakh on the sixth Tuesday of its release. With this, the earning of the film ‘Gadar 2’ has reached Rs 520.80 crore at the domestic box office. If the film does not face a challenge from ‘Jawaan’ which is making huge profits at the box office, then it will become the highest grossing Hindi released film in the country by the seventh weekend.

This year, the film ‘Pathan’, which was released a day before Republic Day, did a great job in the first week, earning Rs 351 crore in Hindi. The Hindi version of the film earned Rs 91.50 crore in the second week of its release, Rs 45.65 crore in the third week, Rs 13.95 crore in the fourth week and Rs 8.45 crore in the fifth week. By the 40th day of release, the earning of the film ‘Pathan’ could reach only Rs 516.37 crore.
